Angela Hope Qualey, MD

Lately, I've been remembering a prayer from another special day. Allen and I named our baby girl "Angela Hope." A few weeks later at her dedication, the pastor prayed that she would grow into the beautiful and powerful meaning of her name..."angel of hope!" This past weekend, before our very eyes, we saw the completion of that prayer as Angela became a doctor with the dream of using her intellect and surgical skill to share hope and healing with hurting people.

Our entire family and some really special friends gathered for the weekend in Indianapolis to celebrate, experience, and mark the day that Angela has worked so incredibly hard for. For Allen and I, this was one of the greatest weekends of our lives. Words cannot express what it is like to see your child achieve their goals knowing that this day required daily sacrifice and surrender to the call on their lives. It's amazing to consider the twists and turns to get here. Sometimes we loved the steps God led us thru and sometimes,...well it was tough! It is fun to look back and celebrate how complex, good, and perfect God's plans are for our lives. He truly has a purpose for each of us and orchestrates every single step we take. The journey builds our faith, trust, and reliance on God. In the end we have the most incredible sense of His power and presence in our lives. This weekend, I'm proud of Angie but mostly my heart is filled with gratitude for having a front row seat to the amazing story of her life.
